Toronto #2
Toronto, an international mecca for business, finance, arts, and culture, is recognized as one of the world's most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities.
With more that 50 percent of residents belonging to a visible minority, and over 160 languages spoken, Toronto's diverse population reflects its role as a prime destination for new Canadians.
The Royal York, one of Toronto's most iconic buildings, featured in this design, constructed in 1929, was at the time, the tallest building in Toronto, Canada, and believe it or not, the British Empire!
Indigenous peoples, including the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe have travelled through and inhabited the Toronto area for more than 10,000 years. The Mowhawk named the area 'tkaronto', meaning "where there are trees standing in the water."
