The Junction
The Junction, named for the junction of four railway lines in the area (the West Toronto Diamond), is an eclectic gem that offers both a quiet place to call home, and a lively night out.
The neighbourhood was previously an independent city called West Toronto, before amalgamating with Toronto in 1909.
Its lush, tree-lined streets and century brick homes form a hip neighborhood alive with restaurants, bars, local boutiques and businesses.
Murdoch Mysteries, a detective series based in and around Toronto in the early 1900s, made extensive references to the Junction and its place in the temperance movement in an episode of the show's 9th season. Most of the story takes place either within the Junction or through characters based there.
First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, inhabited this area.
