ROM
The Royal Ontario Museum (“The ROM”), founded in 1914, now houses over 13 million objects spanning art, culture, and nature. The Rom is Canada’s largest museum, and the fifth largest museum in North America.
The ROM’s crystal shaped facade (2003), and featured in this design (along with the original building), was inspired by the museums extensive gem and mineral collection.
Prior to the 17th century, the area would have been inhabited by First Nations people including the Mississaugas, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.
Although we know the ROM is much more, for many of us it was the first place we came face to face with a dinosaur, and so it seems fitting that this design must also live in the dinosaur’s wonderous shadow.
