Kingston Road Village

SKU: 172

Kingston Road Village, located in the Upper Beaches, offers a relaxed, family friendly vibe. With its green space, quaint shops, cafes and pubs, KRV is quintessential Upper Beaches.

The Kingston Road Market, pictured in this design, complete with its iconic coca cola signage, reminds us of Kingston Road’s historic past.

The precursor to Kingston road, The Scarborough Front Road, was constructed in 1800 at a cost of $90 / mile – quite a bargain, given current (2016) costs would be over $600,000 / mile! Given a lack of maintenance, in 1815 Kingston Road proper was constructed, and used by stagecoaches to deliver the mail.

In the early 1800’s KRV would have been considered part of Norway Village, a small postal village, named for the Norway Pines that populated the area.

First Nations, dating back over 10,000 years, including the Mississaugas, Seneca, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, used the land for portages and travel, trade, hunting, and living.

Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for the KRV Fall and Spring festivals - live music, games including a hotly contested scavenger hunt, and fantastic food… including some of #TheSweetestThings.
