King West
Cutting edge, cool and rapidly expanding because of its lure and charm, King West is Toronto’s answer to New York’s sublime Soho Village. The streetscapes are lined with high end retailers, fashionable home furnishing shops and distinctive boutiques. King West’s urbane coolness boasts one of the best club scenes in town, a vibrant arts scene where studios and galleries abound. King West was one of the first streets laid out in the 1793 plan of the town of York, which became Toronto in 1834. The building pictured in this design dates back to the 19th century, originally the head office of Massey Harris, a farm equipment company, and now residencial lofts.
